I finally saw Adventureland. I liked it for the most part, though I found myself distracted by anachronisms that I'll discuss in another post. In the meantime, I have to lay out the other thought running through my head throughout the entire movie. I'm probably way behind on this one, but oh well:
LOL. Yes, yes and yes! That's a good equation indeed.

Hehe, thanks for validating, Karen. Early in Adventureland I told my girlfriend Eisenberg looked like Samberg, which she flatly denied. Then as the movie progressed I realized how much he looked like Cera as well. Turns out he's a perfect hybrid, which I wouldn't have noticed when I saw him in The Squid and the Whale since it came out years before the other two were famous.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could have found a better straight on headshot, but the stills of him in Adventureland are shockingly limited considering he's the star.
I still don't get the Cera comparisons. Though, even if I did, it seems as though most (not necessarily you) seem to think it a bad thing. I don't get the Cera backlash, either.
ReplyDeleteHaven't picked up on any backlash, but the similarity, at least to me, was glaringly obvious. Mostly in character, but in some scenes, especially a physical resemblance, same facial expressions or something.
ReplyDeleteI liked this movie, pretty much ... I wrote about it as well.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I thought he WAS Cera through about half the movie ... I so hip with what the kids are watchin', and all.
Indeed, and I enjoyed your "outside of the generation" thoughts - more to come on that later this week, I hope...
