I think the dark comedy, as you say, works either way it's seen.<BR/><BR/>Well I wish it wasn't so, Miranda, but, yeah, this one seems a little truer than life at times. It's no wonder there are SO many movies like it. I just saw Sleeping with the Enemy on TV - the scene where Julia Roberts' stalker is following her at none other than - an amusement park. I think you might find <I>Strangers</I> an interesting film. There's much to study in it, much more than I've done here. It's a five star-film. As you conveyed in your THE BIG SLEEP review, you have a talent for disavowing a straight-academic consideration of the film, but instead you blend that element with historical and character perspectives and an overview of the film as some kind of cultural event. You must be commended for this as well as for a free-wheeling, playful and engaging writing style, which will draw people in rather than scaring them away.<BR/> I really love this film and I thank you for this most readable and entertaining piece.
